73 ING. KARL KUCHINKA MAHR-OSTRAU-1o, 10 July 1944. DIRECTOR-GENERAL OF THE WITKOWITZ LEISENWERK) WITKOWITZER BERGBAU- und EISENHÜTTEN-WERKSCHAFT nitteramnt et 11: JUU 1944 Dear Minister of State! As you know, Mr Pleiger has now called for the approval of Dr. Nowak, which you know from the numerous meetings of the supervision of the Witkowitzer union. He is one of my first employees and, according to his service contracts, confirmed by the supervision of the Witkowitz union, is in the rank of a member of the board of directors. Dr.Nowak also holds numerous leading positions in the group of the WITkowitzer union, as can be seen from the attached composition. The reasons why Dr.Nowak should be removed from my staff are obvious, as it is known that he is at the forefront of the creation and maintenance of the legal basis for my undisturbed further activity from the very first day. This is the basis of his hostile attitude towards Hermann Göring's works, which, in the opinion of the latter alone, is already produced by the fact that their demands are not met, and may speak against them even as valid factual reasons. Under no circumstances can Nowak renounce and the accusations against him are partly ridiculously exaggerated and one-sided, I have rejected the measures I have requested and in particular pointed out that Dr.Nowak belongs to the circle of those following members of the Witkowitzer union whose fate you, dear Minister of State, have put into your hands because of the commitment of Hermann Göring's works. I would like to make a copy of my opinion 2_Annexes. ./. ©4MπM-63t/44
