09 - 3 - In the meeting of the 14.7 d.J. in Witkowitz in the presence of the Chairman of the Arms Commission, Major General Hernekamp, and the Armaments Committee, Dr. Adolf, it was agreed that you would expedite, in agreement with Hernecamp, to check whether workers for the munitions production in the South could be withdrawn from less important productions. I have also mentioned this in my telex from the 15.7.d.Js., and I take it that you, together with the chairman of the Arms Commission, would soon arrange for the next. It is therefore not possible to speak of a delay with regard to the Schmidt case in this respect. I am still standing by my statement that objections should not be raised against a change in the management of the Witkowitzer Eisenwerke. I therefore agree that Director-General Kuchin-ka will be replaced by another suitable person, and I agree, in accordance with your assurance, that no person from another part of the Reich will be appointed for this purpose. On my part, I propose, after consultation with Gauleitung Sudetenland, the director Dr. Schicketanz, who is currently employed in the mining and iron and steel works association in Teschen, who I know as an outstanding expert in the area and the economy. Dr. Schicketanz would also fulfil the political preconditions that must be observed in the present case. Schichtetanz could replace Kuchinke in all functions, i.e. as a trade director as well as as as a skipping director. In this case Dr.Schmidt would be a bear as supervisor - so kit the same eefüngnissen as Dr.Möhring.
