Copy. 83 Berlin -Halensee, 29 June 1944. Albrecht Achilles- Strasse 5o/4 Mr. Director General Ing. Karl Kuchinka M.Ostrau lo. Subject : Leave of absence of Dr. Leopold Nowak, procurator of the Witk.- Mining - and ironworks- Gewert. Dear Mr. Kuchinca ! I hereby request you to leave the Prolurist Dr.Leopold Nowak immediately upon receipt of this letter and to arrange that Dr. Nowak no longer enter the Witkowitzer Eisenwerk from the same hour. I shall take further measures in this connection and ask you to instruct Dr. Zänkel to take the Biiro of Dr. Nowak in the meantime, until the Prague of the new occupation has been clarified, and to ensure that no documents of any kind are removed from the Rechtsbüiro without the knowledge of Dr. Zinkel. Mr. Zänkel is personally responsible to me for the proper execution of this order. If I have withdrawn myself to this measure, I have had serious reasons to do so. I therefore ask you to take Abetand from every attempt to postpone or even overturn the matter. Not only from the circles of the ironworks Witkowitz itself, but also from my own co-workers have repeatedly come serious complaints about Dr. Nowak to me. Nevertheless, I have repeatedly postponed the decision I have to make today in order to give your employee another chance. Nowak, however, has repeatedly gone against his duties in the most serious way in recent times, in particular that he has misinformed, in a tendentious way, the enemy commissioner, the asset manager and outside personalities of the economy, as at all his sanctified attitude towards the Reichswerke " Hermann Güring "
