Since that day, four years have passed, more than three of them war years, in the course of which, from year to year, the techech people became more familiar with the boundaries of this historic day. Today, every honest tech is already aware of the importance for him of the fact that during this time he can peacefully pursue his work and remains oblivious of direct effects of the war and that he is not required to make sacrifices on the battlefield. We are more aware of the importance of the blessed fact that in this largest of all storms Europe has ever experienced, the Tachech people are under the protection of the Great T03 German Empire and its venerable power. If, therefore, we remember today the historical decision of the Führer, we also remember with admiration the superhuman efforts of the German soldier, his struggle for the preservation of the old European culture and for the victory of the new just European order. I would ask, Mr Secretary of State, to oppose the assurance of the Protectorate Government that the Czech people will strive to fulfil their duties with the greatest respect and honesty. Through our work we will all strive to integrate ourselves firmly into the total war effort to which the Great German Empire has approached, and thus contribute to the victory of the Empire to the best of our ability. a
