A 425/43. Address of the President of the Republic. h7 Your Excellency ! Among the memories that link for us with the memorable 15 March 1939, the powerful personality of our leader Adolf Hitler will always be the first. The future generations will also be obliged to thank him for the fact that, by taking over protection over the Czech people, he saved the countries of Bohemia and Moravia from the ruinous horrors of war. On the other hand, it is our duty to ensure that the work of the Führer is protected from the danger of the Bolshevik East, which has reached its peak. As I can note with satisfaction, the understanding already exists in all strata of the population of the Czech Republic that the struggle of the Empire against the common enemies of Europe is also our struggle and that only the victory of the empire can bring peace and quiet to our homes. In our country, too, the broad sections of the people are well aware that the worries and hardships that the war inevitably entails are only a temporary phenomenon in the gigantic struggles of the empire for a better future. The Czech public has gratefully received the open words of the Secretary of State Karl Hermann Frank, who have dispelled the fears spread by the hostile propaganda. ./.
