A525/86 Address by the President. Your Excellency! Among the memories that link us to the memorable 15 March 1939, the powerful personality of our leader Adolf Hitler will always be the first. The future generations will also be obliged to thank him for the fact that, by taking over protection over the Czech people, he has saved the countries of Bohemia and Moravia from the spoiling horrors of war. On the other hand, it is our duty to ensure that the work of the Führer is protected from the danger of the Bolshevik East, which has reached its peak. As I can note with satisfaction, the understanding already exists in all strata of the Czech population that the struggle of the Empire against the common enemies of Europe is also our struggle and that only the victory of the Kingdom of our homes can bring peace and quiet. With us, too, the broad sections of the people are well aware that the worries and hardships that the war inevitably entails are only a passing phenomenon in the gigantic struggles of the empire for a better future. The Czech public has gratefully received the open words of the Secretary of State Karl Hermann Frank, who have scattered the fears spread by the hostile propaganda. c c Tde terns of all classes of the Czech people is not only a gratifying proof of this right attitude to me, but also a vow in which all forces are engaged in today's total commitment
