gnzaBeaO The voice of the Czechoslovak people. On behalf of the Czechoslovakian government, currently in London: In recent times, our President Dr. Ed.Be n e s c h announced a message twice. The first was intended for the whole Czechoslovakian people. In this he encouraged us to continue to stand up in our struggle against Nazi violence, for the future belongs to us and never to those who commit violence, murderers and mercenaries. He also indicated that the time was no longer far from when the Germans began to work on public opinion, and he will investigate in every possible way, in the good or in the evil, through the mediation of bribed Czechs, the majority of the people to win for cooperation. The President warned us against this action and urged us not to let anyone from unseparate ranks pass away weakly and let his purpose be diverted neither by promises nor by threats, the fate of the Germans is sealed and they are also aware of it. He proclaimed the second message on the eve of 1 May, and this was exclusively the message of the workers: throughout the period of our republic's existence we celebrated the day of work as a state holiday, which should be a symbol of the working people, that the democratic institution of our state would be able to raise the standard of labour, since it is the most socially weak part of our people. This venerable effort was constrained in particular by the political disintegration at the time and by the spirit of the coalition that was at its core. These pehlers must not be repeated in our new state and therefore the workers, who must form a unity in political relation, will be called primarily to watch over the socialist and democratic character of our future state.
