Ity I allow myself to draw your attention to the book written above. Before entering into the discussion about this book it seems absolutely necessary to me to emphasize how completely incomprehensible it is that in the German Reich the problem of Hus can still be discussed. After the dissolution of the German-Czech concerns in the 19th and 2nd centuries, especially after the crisis in 1938/39, the same was true of the conviction that every German writer would have recognized the problem of H u s and that any kind of discussion of this problem would at least be rejected from the point of view of indispensability. The hope for this impact of the extensive propaganda in recent times was unfortunately erroneous. For us Germans, Hus is still not the reformer, but the Czech, who indirectly and directly advanced the hostility against the Reich and Germanism from the struggles of his time. Nor is Hus a subtlety for us, which can only be considered suf himself related. - 2 -
