- 5 - 98 the economy and the economy of the south-east states are to be dealt with scientifically and practically; furthermore, the institute is concerned with the scientific preparation of the legal unification within the Great German region, in which Prague it stands directly in cooperation with the participating Reichsstellen; finally, the Institute is responsible for the legal special training of a German secondary education, which is to be developed for the southeast. The Institute is headed by Dr. Würdinger, professor of commercial law at the University of Vienna, who will also hold a teaching assignment for Agram from the next semester. 5.) South-East Agricultural Institute. This institute is in close contact with the University for Soil Culture in Vienna. The task of this institute lies first in the recording of the literature and the maps and pictures available in Vienna at the various libraries, as far as the agricultural conditions of the southeast are concerned. In addition, lectures on the agricultural economy in the south-east are planned. With regard to the scientific work of the Institute, the first work planned is a presentation "Services of the German peasantry as a yardstick for the productivity of south-eastern Europe"; this work is intended to provide the basis for the so far missing comparison of the possibilities of increasing yields per hectare etc. in the southeast. Special studies, which are carried out partly with the relevant German ethnic groups, have been initiated for Croatia and Slovakia. Also planned is a hydrological work on the Danube Delta. Finally, it should be mentioned that a systematic understanding of all the problems associated with the cultivation of industrial plants in the south-east has been taken up by the Institute.
