FEB. 1944 I had been forced for several months by the takeover of the main management of the district group Coal Mining Upper Silesia and the Upper Silesian Mountain and Hüttenmännische Verein in Gleiwitz to lead the business of the South-Eastern Europe Society only voluntarily. Following the entry of Dr. Augenthaler as Chief Executive Officer and Dr. Oberascher as Deputy Chief Executive Director into the South-Eastern Europe Company, I have now finally resigned the Chief Executive with the permission of the Patron and the President of the Company. Unfortunately, for reasons of time, it is not possible for me to personally say goodbye to all the bodies and persons with whom I have gained and maintained professional and personal contact during my work at the South-East Europe Society.
