Rpr. j3 6yowrd.1 3 After the pig census of March 3, 1942, around 1.4 million pigs were counted in the Protectorate of Bohemia and Moravia against 1.83 on December 3, 1941 and 1.88 on October 24, 1941. As was not expected, the pig population decreased by 500 000 or almost 30% in October 194l. Although this decline is extremely large, it is explained only by domestic slaughters, which usually start shortly before Christmas and come to an end at the end of February. Compared to the same period of the previous year, the current pig population is about 300 o00 pieces larger. The pig population in the Bohemian = Moravian region is clearly under construction, provided that this development is not inhibited due to a lack of feed. The pig stock in protectorate is still small compared to the pig population of the rest of the Reich region.
