8 G.Z.: II/2 - 2215/1 Prague on 30. IV. 1942 1st note. 760 Betr.: Development of the pig population: in the protectorate. A decrease in the pig stock from the December census to the following March census always occurs and is to be declared as a regularity from the house slaughters which collide during these months. It is also necessary to examine, of course, when comparing a census with the previous one, whether there is still a trend change beyond the seasonal, i.e. normal, change*. In the case of the March 1942 census, the effect of a slight trend-wise drop in pig stocks in the Protectorate can undoubtedly be observed, which, by the way, quite coincides with the development observed in the Reich. March 1942 - I 3 g:- 519/6740- the claim that in the rest of the Reich area about 7 % more pigs are kept per hectare of farmland than in the Protectorate is not true. Rather, the situation at the present time is such that the number of pigs per ha of farm land in the remainder of the Kingdom area and in the protectorate almost exactly coincides. In the Altreichgebiet, about 64 pigs were kept in December 1941 and at the same time at the Protectorate, about 58 pigs per 1oo ha of agricultural land were kept. Herr komm. Group leader Dr. Schmidt. 3
