With effect from 1 April 1940, a new German-Bohemian-Moravian tariff was issued in international traffic, replacing the former German-Czechoslovak tariff. In the other trades the integration of the Bohemian-Mauritian railways into the Reichsdeutschen tariff was carried out. On 1 April 1940, the tariffs for domestic and export transport were increased by 15 %, with the exception of certain types of goods of major economic importance, such as coal, coke, fertilizers and livestock. The general principles for the tariff policy of the protectorate railways remained unchanged, especially with regard to the granting of freight discounts in justified special cases. The international union freight tariffs were adjusted in 1940 to the new conditions. Many association tariffs, which had lost their importance, were abolished, others were reissued, albeit in part only for a temporary period. In the field of agriculture, the financial year brought about major changes. 444 Coll. substantially improved the income ratios of railway employees, and the Government Decree Z. 445/1940, which established systemized posts of the 7th to 5th grade for the former officials of the Ia and IIb status, brought them material advantages and, in particular, the possibility of transport at higher pay levels. Railway staff had the same share of the general increase in permanent remuneration as other protectorate staff, and with effect from 1 April 1940, additional remuneration was increased by 15 %. The extended working hours of the locomotive and train staff in the event of permanent train delays, which assumed an unusual extent, especially in the winter months, due to the exceptional operating conditions, were compensated for by a replacement allowance or, if this could not be granted, paid. At the request of the railway administration, the workers were granted a substantial improvement in wages by the announcement of the Minister of Social and Health Administration of 29 May 1940. In the case of social welfare, the payment of pension and pension benefits to employees of the former ČSD in the Sudeten area was regulated in the financial year in so far as these benefits were not taken over by the Deutsche Reichsbahn. This provision also covers benefits from the Invalidity and Pension Fund as well as accident pensions from accident care. Finally, the draft convention on the division of the former Zahradnik Social Welfare Fund and the former Georg Stříbrný Fund for the Healing of Tuberculosis was prepared.
