Voßstraße 35 To the Herr Gauleiter and Reichsstatthalter im Sudetengau in Reichenberg Reichsstathalterei Betr.: Introduction of a D-Zuge Troppau - Reichenberg on Königgrätz On the letter of 22 October 1991 Dear Herr Reichsstaller ! The transport connections of the Sudetengau have always been the subject of my special attention. I should like to point out here the increase of the express trains on the routes Reichenberg - Eger, Bodenbach - Prague and Reichenberg – Görlitz - Wrocław. These measures could only be carried out under the supervision of other intensities of the traffic needs. In the case of the heavy use of the Reichsbahn by trnsport tasks for war-decisive purposes, there is currently no prospect of a high-speed train pair between Reichenberg and Troppau through the area of the Protectorate. The establishment of a daily connection between Reichenberg and Troppau is not just a question of locomotive arrangement. According to the above-mentioned elevations, the railway way over Königgrätz is about 60 m shorter than the now usual way over Görlitz - Hirschbergier at but not as favorable route conditions as this way, so that on both ways the same travel times are necessary. The journey time between Reichenberg and Troppau ßbears under today's conditions about 9 hours. The possibility of going back and forth in one day is therefore given on one way or the other. As findings about the volume of traffic have also shown, the traffic of the Troppau and Reichenberg, as well as the traffic to and from the intermediate stations, is not so large, lS-\v-x-22/42 ./.
