9.Blat on the activity report of the primator deputy for the period from 1/8.- to 30./9.1941. THE PRIMATOR-STELL REPRESENTATIVE OF THE MAIN STATE PRAG. Head, Mr. Bayer, has also taken care of the wounded German soldiers of the city. A number of successful steamer trips on the Vltava found all-round appeal. A voucher campaign for wounded people that has just been launched to allow them free visits to galleries, museums, theatres, KdF evenings, Varietés and so on has been taken by the public. The question of monuments is developing less happily in Prague. Although after lengthy negotiations it was already decided clearly that the Radetzky monument should be restored to its original place, we were surprised by the decision of the Reich Protector that this monument should not be erected. Nevertheless, on this question it will always be noted that this monument has its rightful meaning only in its old place and in no other place in the city. Some technical difficulties caused the long-desired removal of the Švec monument. Against the continued order to re-establish it in another place, I submitted a scientific report to the State Secretary, in which I examined the work of life and the importance of the Supreme Švec from the German point of view and concluded that the re-establishment of this monument in a German-born Prague was impossible. Finally, a statistical comment on the results of the enrolments in the Czech schools and schools in Prague for the school year 1941/42 should be added here. If, in the last few years, we felt that there was a remarkable drop in the number of pupils in the first classes, we must note from this year's statistics that this decline has come to a halt, which is best reflected in the figures for the first four classes of primary education. For example, in the first class 8992, in second class 895l, in third class 9205 and in fourth class 9859 children were enrolled.
