THE SECRETARY TO THE RUSSIAN PROTECTOR IN THINGS AND IN MORAVA, PRAGUE, inv. 1294, sig. 109-4/1048
English Translation
19 -17- 1,/ The electric trams, including the trolleybuses and the cableway, show a pure surplus of K 7,510,170,23, which is greater by K 510.688,36 than the profit of the year l94o. On the contrary, the main source of income from tram transport appears to be an increase, because on the one hand the number of passengers carried has increased quite considerably (from the 329,000 passengers carried in 1940 to 381,000,000 people) and on the other hand because in April 1994 it was possible to increase fares. As a result of the increase in frequency, the revenue from the trolleybus transport and the cable car also increased. An obvious consequence of the unusual frequency increase is the increase of operating costs, namely the cost of persons and property. On the other hand, there appears to be a significant decline in the investment depreciation item because these investments, including depreciation already carried out, have fallen, and the investments terminated in 194l, from which, according to the Government Decree of 16/1l 1939 No. 7 S1g. of J. 1940, extra-ordinary depreciation could be carried out. Despite the increase in transport from the trolleybuses and the cableway, as has already been mentioned, the final results of these two sections of traffic are pas- siv, because the frequency has increased accordingly also the expenditure. However, no active results are to be expected.
