Prague, May 12, 1942 6V Dear Mr. Superior Councillor! Mrs. Schreiner is ill with a severe festering angina, has been unable to eat for days and would urgently need any help, especially for her two children. My wife, when she learned about it, immediately accepted the children and dedicated to them whole afternoons, which is a certain sacrifice especially in the somewhat peculiar education of the older child. Moreover, it is in the long term impossible to provide a foreign household with, buy for the second household, provide besides also station service etc. Mrs. Schreiner wanted to write to her husband in Berlin, but a letter like this goes today about three days, back also three days and the help should enter immediately. My private opinion is that Ms. Schreiner and the two children should be taken to the SS sanatorium in Prague-Podol; however, a certain influence would be necessary here, which I naturally do not have. Mrs Schreiner is, after all, a personal stranger to me, but in this difficult time I have considered it my duty to do something that I promise myself success. Forgive me, Dr. Gieß, for allowing me to approach you in this matter; in my own case I would not like to ask for anything. Heil Hitler ! erg: H. frirfelv Lektor
