eE Ia Maaa VI- 2000-61 Prague, February 1943. Note On February 2, 1943, the Secretary of the Minister Hr u b ý handed over the draft to the representatives of the "Agricultural Farmers' Doctrine" to the Minister. The examination of the speech revealed that it was a series of empty and insignificant formulations. Nor had there been any mention of the union of Bohemia and Moravia with the Empire, as well as of the need to fight against Bolshevism. Finally, in agricultural terms, there was no commitment to the necessities of the production battle. The Minister's secretary had indicated that the speech should be given on Thursday, 4 February 1993 in the afternoon. On Thursday morning, senior government councillor Ing. Z a n k 1 Head of Division Dr. Schmidt was informed by telephone that the speech in this form could not be held, since it could give rise to false interpretations. It was agreed to cancel the whole event with the reference to Stalingrad. This was done to the minister on 4.2.1943 at about 1 p.m. by Dr. S. m i dt in the presence of Dr. S t a e h 1 y, whereupon he said literally: "Shall I cancel immediately?" department head Dr. Schmidt affirmed this. Minister H r u b ý was visibly unpleasant about the matter. However, one had to win the impression that he was quite willing to drop the meeting and speech. In reality, however, this meeting had just taken place and the speech had already been given. As soon as this turned out in the afternoon, the secretary was questioned and explained that the meeting had been postponed the evening before to the morning. The minister did not say a word about it at the meeting with Dr. Sc h m i d t. In any event, a speech has been made which was previously not approved. In the afternoon, the press officer of Division VI immediately ordered that any mention of the assembly or speech be kept in the press.
