STATE SECRETARY FOR THE RUSSIAN PROTECTOR IN THINGS AND IN MORAVA, PRAGUE, inv. 492, sig. 109-4/238
English Translation
The Czechoslovak envoy to Santiago de Chile, Dr. Vladimir Smetans, also handed over his embassy to the German Embassy on 17 March l939 and pledged his cooperation to it. However, already in the days of this suffocation, Smetana ransacked his attitude and stepped on the other side - according to a report of the German Botsanaft in Santiago of 15 March 15. From the second paragraph of the above-mentioned report it is clear that both Kaderabek and Smetana on 1-7 March l939 have deliberately withdrawn their secret archives from handing them over to the German diplomatic missions. Kaderabek and Smetana have already been declared a lost protectorate member (see announcement of the Reichsainiater of the interior of 7 January 19942 and of 17 February 1941 - list No. 2 and 3 - in the "Deutsche Reichs- anseiger und Preussische Staatsanzeiger" No. 7 and 9 of the year 194l).
