V/g Prague, 16 November 1941. Excerpt from the interrogation minutes: Dr. M e z n i k was in solitary confinement at the Kaunitzkolleg in Brno. All guards had received the special instruction to treat Meznik in the context of the existing possibilities. Immediately after he was admitted to prison, he was officially examined for a mild liver disease. After he was submerged, he received food for a diet. He was treated with the greatest care in all cases. His suicide leads to the conclusion that, according to the findings of the hearings, he feared the punishment, and on the other hand the further strain of leading figures. Because of the city location of the police prison Kaunitzkolleg in Brno, all guards from the first day on had the strongest regulations to immediately shoot at all prisoners who are making themselves at the window. This shooting order is known to all prisoners by attack in the building and in the cells. On 14.11.1941 shortly after 10 o'clock in the morning ri8 Meznik raised the window of his cell on the second floor of the prison and rose on the window sill. On the three-fold invitation of the post to go down and close the window, he repeatedly called both the post 2 and the post 1: "Shoot!" When the po- sten 2 then fired two warning shots, the prisoner very gesturingly called the post 1: "Better shoot se d ser a se de shoot!" b.w.
