Prague, 23 August 1940. K. 23. VIII. 1940 submitted to the Under-Secretary of State. When discussing the draft law on the protection of marriage, family and motherhood, Mr Staatsekretär once again pointed out the need for the women of German nationality who have married members of the protectorate to have their German nationality under the law.The women concerned to be referred to the way of the application for citizenship was a matter of impossibility, since in the majority of cases women would not dare to make such a request without the consent of their men. In the present situation, the present state led to the fact that the women of German ethnicity were not protected from the law. This state was not very happy from a national and political point of view. I should like to suggest that you raise the matter with the Secretary of State in order to discuss what steps should be taken to achieve the objective which the Secretary-General wishes to achieve. n.vorgel.d.23.8. 8 Slm.
