STATE SECRETARY FOR THE RUSSIAN PROTECTOR IN THINGS AND IN MORAVA, PRAGUE, inv. 269, sig. 109-4/11
English Translation
12 April 1940. St.S. 284/40. To SA-Obergruppenführer Wilhelm B r ü c k n e r , Chief Adjutant of the Führer, Be rl in W8 , Reichskanzlei. Very venerable party comrade Brückner ! The Führers decided on the oral request of the Reichsprotector because of the intended designation of the bank road in Prague that the street should not get its name. Thus, a situation which is difficult for the sake of it, because the questionable road has been in planning for years, which deals with the Aenderubg of the street names, when Adolf Hitler-Ufer is gusgwiesen and the Czechs from this mean a loss of prestige, one wanted to do without the renaming of the road. According to their mentality, the Czechs would undoubtedly put this as a weakness determined by any internal or external political circumstances at all and as a follow-up to the question of changing the street names in particular. In these circumstances, I would be grateful if you would present the matter to the leader in person and, in this case, to ask for the request of the whole of Prague.
