inlsteramt The Inspector of the Higher 4 and Police Guide for the Track Security in Moravia 1 9. FEB. 1945 Olmütz, 17 February 1945 G e heim!! Betr.: Activity report for the period from ll.2.45 to 17.2.45 To the Higher I and Police Leaders for Bohemia and Moravia i Obergruppenführer und General der Waffen-il und Polizei K. H. Fr a n k, After renewed consultation with Dr. Maus in the Ministry of Transport and Technology dealt with questions raised by Inspector S.S.M. with the railway representative of the Deutsche Reichsbahn in Brno with regard to the increased use of track walkers and German and Czech railway protection officers. The cooperation with the services of the B. M.B. and the Deutschereichsbahn is a very good one up to now. In Moravian-Ostrava, Inspector S.S.M. convinced himself of the safety measures taken so far by the railway lines in this area. The safety there is not sufficient and has to undergo a new regulation for which, however, there are not enough forces at first. The combat commander of Mähr.Ostrau himself has no particular wishes with regard to the road safety. With the newly established Kdr. of the Ördnungspolizei Moravia, Colonel Heichmann, Brno the reinforcement of the security in the sector of the police of the order by parts of the 8./i-Pol.-Rgt. was agreed and ordered. The Korück of the I. Pz. Army, Lieutenant General Brauner, has not yet been established. To secure the route, the Korück is directly under the Schlesien road safety regiment, which is mainly used on Silesian routes and only with partial forces on routes in Moravia. An underlay of these partial forces in Moravia under inspector S.S.M. is inappropriate and was rejected by the Korück I. Fz. army. Lieutenant General Brauner wants to have secured additional routes in Moravia, but for which initially no forces are available. Perhaps later deployment after additional security forces are supplied by inspector S.S.M. in agreement with the chief of the staff of the Koruck I. Pz. Army. A securing of the possible route Mähr.Ostrau - Frank-stadt - Wall.Meseritsch - Hullein is desirable, but seems not urgent at the moment in the opinion of the railway officer in Brno. This view must be followed by inspector S.S.M. after assessment of the situation. Falkenau was used with 3 companies for road safety and thus the safety of the most important railway lines in Moravia was considerably strengthened. It remains to be seen how this unit will prove itself in its operation.
