Idea and shape of the empire National state thinking must be overcome o clearly the present struggle first applies to the securing of our father country against the rush from the east, so clearly the contours of a new order of Europe already stand out, which no longer follow the boundaries of the old nation state thinking. What is calling millions of Europeans under arms today is no longer the struggle for raw materials and living space alone, but the will to re-shape this continent, for which it is worth living and dying. The fact that thousands of Norwegians, Dutch, Flamen and Walloons are fighting in the ranks of the 3ł arms on the eastern front is only a symbol of the awakening power of the Germanic peoples, who seek the way into a new future beyond the borders of their state order since then. There can be no doubt that we are already moving beyond the boundaries of old nation-state thinking with our ideas of what is once to come in Europe, when this difficult and bitter struggle will be over. No thinking person in Europe believes that, at the end of this difficult struggle, whatever fate will decide, the return of the old state orders, as planned and established in the Versailles Treaty, can stand. Just as the victims of the First World War gave the German people the right to re-order within the empire, so the sacrifices of this war are only justified if at its end there is a re-organization in Europe that corresponds to the vastness and depth of the National Socialist revolution that has taken place in the middle of this continent. This rearrangement can only take place from the thought of the race. The Dutch, the Flamen, the Walloons, the Scandinavians, who now fight alongside us in the ranks of the 71⁄2 arms, not only defend their homeland against the onslaught of Asia, they also fight not only for the preservation of European culture, but they are the pioneers of a reorganization of Europe on the basis of the Germanic idea. A similar process is taking place in the European Greater Region, which led to the founding of the Bismarck Empire some 70 years ago. At that time, the German individual states arose on the basis of the national state principle in the Reich. The National Socialist Revolution blew up nation-state thinking and put racial thinking in its place. At the end of this war, therefore, Europe must be reorganized on the basis of Germanic solidarity, and national thinking has culminated in the Bismarck Empire. At the moment when the immense wave of onslaught from the East proposed to the European borders, this continence finds its way back to the great historical order that it had already set up hundreds of years earlier on the basis of Germanicism. We have come to a point of development at which the idea of race begins to shape the historical-political reality. 1
