Slovakia is an autonomous part of the Czechoslovak Republic. On the territory of Slovakia Vt the Slovak language is the official language and the language of instruction. Citizens of a different nationality can use their mother tongue in relations with the peoples of the region. The competence of the National Assembly for the whole territory of the Czechoslovak Republic includes the following matters: constitutional issues, relations with foreign countries, declaration of war, peace, national defence, state agility, currency, mass and weight duties, transport, state schools and taxation, in so far as they cover the common effort. In all other respects, the Slovak kngekegexhamkenx Landtag exercises the legislative power. The majority of ixtx for the election of the President of the Republic must also be composed of members of the National Assembly elected in the area of the Slovak Republic. If this is not sufficient, Slovakia will make a further contribution according to the percentage of the tax burden in relation to the other countries of the republic. The Slovak Government exercises the government and the exercise of power in the areas of Slovakia, which is responsible to the Slovak Parliament. The Slovak Parliament will be elected according to the principle of the general, direct, equal and secret electoral system according to a principle of proportionality. The active right to vote is linked to the completion of the 2nd year of life. The number of valid votes cast in 2000 and a possible remainder of 3/4 of this number are allocated to each mandate.
