A SOCIETY FOR THE RUSSIAN PROTECTOR IN THINGS AND IN MORAVA, PRAGUE, inv. 2766, sig. 109-16/1
English Translation
55 A S of the General Plenipotentiaries for Labour Use considers the capacity to work only from the point of view of labour and welcomes the resettlement of these Slovak Chechens as a welcome increase in strength for the rest of the Reich. The matter has undoubtedly the strongest political character. In itself, it would only be natural for the Slovaks of Czech ethnicity to be expelled into the Protectorate as the country to which they belong as a people. On the other hand, however, there may also be a considerable political danger in this case, because the resettlements - on which the fact of resettling alone will have an aggravating effect - in their vast majority will hardly offer the guarantee of a re-evident attitude to work - the Protectorate would be particularly interested in the persons listed in points II, 6, 9, ll above all; in the other occupational groups, the Protectorates themselves are in part still dispensing countries or are not interested in them in terms of employment. The attached list - whose original letter was sent yesterday to the officer-general for the work in Berlin - was handed to me by the councillor Sager on my express request, whereby the councilman-general Sager emphasized the confidential nature of the matter in particular. I have explained to Sager the fact that, under all circumstances, I must inform Minister Dr.Bertsch, or Secretary of State Frank, of this, but that I will not make provisional demands on Berlin - pending a decision by the State Secretary - in terms of employment. tfernew b.w.
