3f5- 143 Pressburg, October 1944 Chairman ! With regard to the contract for the supply of the German Wehrmacht in Slovakia and my accompanying letter of today concerning the buildings on the West and North-West borders, I have the honour to inform you that the competent German military service will inform the Slovak Ministry of Finance in advance of the provision of the country's payment funds to be requested monthly under the contract, each for a quarter of a year. Since this need for the situation cannot be ascertained with certainty in advance, this communication can only be regarded as a completely non-binding indication of the measures to be taken by the national authorities. In this sense, on this occasion, I can first give you an estimate of the forecast total demand for Iandes payment appropriations for the months of October, November and December at 80O million Ks. This includes: 1. the demand according to paragraph 1a of the above contract, 2. the costs for the fortifications on the Vest and Northwest border /s.herein my special letter/. Mr President, ladies and gentlemen, I would like to thank the President-in-Office of the Council, Mr President of the Commission, for his excellent report on the situation in South Africa.
