This applies all the more because in principle discussions of this kind are reserved for the heads of authorities personally. It therefore goes without saying that he will be informed accordingly; for he - not the subordinate - has to bear the responsibility for all the operations of his business; this - as I stress once again, self-evident - duty to remind the family of my administration was given on the occasion of certain events. This, and nothing else, was the clear purpose of the decree, which does not allow a "many interpretation, and certainly not the interpretation of the judgment of Gauleiter, that I would "behind, if not deceived, by my officials or by the leaders and governors of the Reich". The nature of the reminders of their duty must be left to the discretion of the public authorities; there is no obligation to involve the party prior to issuing such instructions; I must also strongly refuse to grant the head of the jury such influence on the management of my authority. The immeasurable form of the attack, which in turn misses the reluctance and comradely feeling claimed by the jury, is, however, unbearable. In detail, the following honorable accusations are raised: Brusqueness of the leader solely responsible men, gross insult to these men, violation of the duty of comradeship, severe interference in the sovereign rights of the Gauleiter and in speciality in those of Gauleiter Jury as head of the party liaison office.
