Copy 136 The Head of the Special Department Prague, April 15, 1943. Cultural Policy W/M Confidential! I./Note Betr.: Short wave action. I searched for Folta in Brno on April 13, 1943 and explained to him in person the meaning of the short wave action and the need for exact implementation. Pg. Folta explained that he had to fight against a rupture of his political leaders. Gauleiter Dr. Jury would hardly have agreed to the action after his inception, he would have been informed beforehand by his subordinate party services about the possible moody effects. He had probably been informed on one side by a speaker from the party liaison office in Prague and had not had the opportunity, because of his workload, to examine the matter more closely before taking a decision. I replied that I could not assume that Gauleiter Dr.Jury had agreed to the action without full consideration; moreover, the matter had not been brought up by a speaker of the party liaison office but by Secretary of State Frank himself to Gauleider Dr.Yury. Folta noted that then Secretary of state Frank had only presented the matter unanimously. I have rejected this and noted that State Secretary Prank, however, was convinced of the need to involve the German population in the action. I can only ask, after the situation that has now been achieved, whose vision I have seen beforehand and did not deny to the parties involved, that circuit leader Folta do everything possible to ensure the smooth running of the action on the part of the party, in accordance with the instructions given by Gauleiter Dr.Jury.
