Last year, when the German military occupied Bohemia, I - not perhaps out of fear, but out of love for the leader and Chancellor Adolf Hitler - produced a beautiful gift and sent it directly to the hands of our saviour. As proof of his joy, I received a letter from the Führer in which he thanked me. This letter is a great treasure for me. I made a gift of the same kind and handed it over to the Reich Protector Freiherr von Neurath. I also received a thank-you letter. Now I am working on such a gift for you and I am convinced that you too will be pleased with what the hands of an old miner bring about. I only ask you, Mr. Secretary of State, to allow me to personally present this gift to you and to present to you the two letters of thanks I received from the Führer and the Reich Protector. I ask once again for your kind permission to find me personally with you and to be able to pass on the gift to you.
