Such a state cannot be preserved in the long term; one should rather recognize that there is no other way for the independence of the Czech people than that which brings it together with the German people for joint work, that is, a way which is also approved by the German nation. Every other path must lead to the Kathastroph, as history also teaches. Ottokar's attempt to acquire parts of German lands has led to a catastrophe. Likewise, the Hussite processions have finally collapsed. The same applies to the attempt that ended in the battle at the White Mountain. Now the Czechs have for the fourth time. The best way would have been to choose the way to Germanism when Germany was still politically and militarily weak. One has missed this moment and it is now only to wish that it is not too late to be able to vote at all.
