8a »The most important problem that will have to be solved in the future is the reduction of primary mortality and the increase in operability, but not by further expansion of the boundaries in advanced cases, but by carrying out the operation in greater numbers in the beginning of cases.« This sentence, which gives direction to the next generation of gynecological surgeons, was written by Schauta in 191l. Even after 15 years of personal operational B Carcinoma colli uteri in the sense of Schauta's instruction, I am now obliged to give the word to the most auspicious and difficult task of our subject to communicate my experiences in the interest of promoting surgical gynaecology. It seems to me that the Carcinoma colli uteri is a particular success, so I will shortly express my opinion on how such achievements can be explained. The essential prerequisite for the real mastery of these two major interventions, the abdominal radical surgery of Carcinoma colli ueri, is the careful Schu in 1933 and 5 Wertheim and 19 Schauta in 1934. These 121 women had an age of 24-61 years; the Wertheim Operateds were 24-56 years old and the Schauta Operated 27-61. Of them, 45 belonged to Group I, 65 of Group II, 9 of Group III and 2 of Group IV in the sense of the division of the Radiological League Commission. Of the 120 women who survived the operation and its consequences, 59 died of relapse, 20 in the first year, 21 in the second year, 4 in the third year, 8 in the fourth year, 3 in the fifth year, 2 in the sixth year and 1 in the seventh year. Two women currently have a relapse and three women are missing. 56 women are considered to be healed after more than 5 years of observation.
