- 4 - .63 In the field of foreign policy, the pages are mainly concerned with the outcome of the trip to Warsaw by the Romanian Foreign Minister Gafencu. The "České Slovo" says in a Prague commentary that in Warsaw the creation of a waterway was negotiated from the Baltic Sea to the Black Sea and thinks that this type of Diplomatie is apparently the most useful for the south-eastern Europap "Národní Listy ", the view that Poland will follow a common line with Germany and Italy after the visit of Ciano under the title of a fairer division of the colonial wealth of the world - with the most conservative methods and maintenance of the old alliance and diplomatic relations as possible - the best way forward. Beck's journey to London will indeed have the significance of a certain mission for the period of new attempts to achieve the work of "good will", which was also to be heard from Dr. Goebbel's speech in Leipzig. The consultations with Gafencu had rather local, central European significance and could lead to a common defence against the Dsten and to a joint cooperation with the countries leading in Central and South-East Europe. The "Národni Politika" report in its own commentary from Warsaw the task of Gafencus had been to agree on a common approach by Poland, Romania and Yugoslavia and on the establishment of a zone of states to protect Romania from Hungarian revisionism and from the various efforts in Bulgaria which seek a border settlement. It is interesting to note that the Warsaw policy establishes a real change in Romanian policy regarding the guidelines of the former small ducks. The Balkan ducks proceed independently, while the small duck was led by certain great powers. Poland would, although recognising Romania's changed position vis-à-vis Hungary, not play an intermediary role between Romania and Hungary. Moreover, the aim of Polish policy from the Baltic Sea to the sea of vision was to create a zone of states which would be a dam between the Soviet Union and the West.
