4414 1. Advice for Foreign Guests. The notification card attached to the program is to be sent to the Congress Office in Leipzig by May 10th, so that the hotel accommodation can be committed. As soon as this has been done, it will be confirmed by the Congress office and the name of the hotel and room number given on the notification card. This will not, however, be done before May 14th, 1939. ·In order that this time may be adopted to, you are politically requested to send in notifications as early as possible. 2. The German State Railways grant every participant to the Congress, coming from abroad, a reduction of 60°% of the normal express train fare available for all distances, when he purchases his coupon book from the Amerop Travel Service. (There are special conditions governing travel by long-distance express and luxury trains). The following are the principal conditions under which this special tariff is granted to travellers from abroad: a) The traveller must have a permanent residence outside Germany, which fact must be proven by the pass port. b) The reduction in fare is granted for journeys of any length from and to the German border, when traveling to a town in Germany and return, for tours and when travelling through Germany. It is not necessary to leave and enter Germany at the same border station. Railway stations in ports, having direct ship connection with abroad, are also considered as border stations. Travellers who arrive in Germany or leave Germany by aeroplane, are granted the reduction in railway tickets to or from the railway station at the aerodrome. c) The Amerop coupon books with the 60% reduction can only be purchased abroad and in those travel Bureaus which are agencies for the AmerOP. Further, these coupon books may be purchased in ports with direct ship connections with abroad and in the travel Bureaus on certain ocean teams. The tickets with the reduction are given upon presentation of a passport that must have been issued by foreign authorities or by a representative of the German government abroad. d) The coupon book may include tickets of any class and has a total validity of three months.
