Copy. Testimony. Dr. Gerhard Gesemann, Professor of the University, has been in my treatment for years. He suffers from a severe disease of the aorta valves with insufficiency of the same and a narrowing of the entrance into the main artery. /Insufficientia valvularum aorae et Stenosis ostii aertae./ There is also, as confirmed by numerous X-ray findings, an extension of the initial part of the main artery and also an expansion of the heart. The severe heart disease exists for many years and is probably due to a stain fever disease. In addition, there is a chronic intestinal catarrh, which often leads to debilitating diarrhoea, whereby at present, impossibility of a de-precating diet cure is an aggravating circumstance. With a body length of 1m85 cm, the body weight is dropped to 68 kg. and accordingly the strength condition a lower. If, despite the severe heart disease, Professor Gesemann has so far fulfilled his many duties of service, this was certainly only possible under the imposition of special willpower. However, there are now signs that indicate a fall in heart strength. Thus, there is a feeling of pressure in the heart region, especially in the case of physical anaesthesia. As half-yearly leave of absence, despite full physical and mental protection, did not produce any success, I am moved to give Professor Ge- semann the urgent advice to seek his retirement.
