SE Division VIII announces: On January 1, 1945 at 10.15 p.m., 15 men dressed as gendarmes entered the Saar locomotive sheds (near Brno) and forced the guard there to behave calmly. They laid explosive bodies under the four locomotives parked, which exploded immediately after leaving the shed. The locomotives were damaged by the detonation and were unable to operate. The loco shed, especially the roof and the 1/2 windows, were severely damaged, at the same time a fire broke out, which could be extinguished by the local fire brigade in half an hour.
