Schrb. v.9.4.4o. Anlge: 3. The letter of the Věrtelař sent from there, together with a translation, is returned from here via V. discussions so far have revealed the following: As a tried-and-tested grain specialist, V. undertook numerous missions to Poland and Russia and stayed in Ukraine with his predecessors. Here he made himself in a propagandist sense very worthy of the former ČsR, taking personal contact with the Czechs living in Ukraine, teaching them about the events in Czechoslovakia and providing them with Czech literature and Czech magazines. He came through this activity in close relation to the Czechoslovak Foreign Ministry, from which he was later officially assigned such a mission. He also had relations with the Ministry of National Defence (MNo) - however, what kind this was, could not be determined. According to an unverified report, V. was also said to have been a legionnaire. Even since the protectorate was founded, V. has often been on business trips and is always only temporarily in Prague. His political attitude can be described as a panslavist.
