37 , S i S :COSCCQ4 Se. Excellenz U IFen 2 8 V.1943 Heren.State Secretary Karl Hermann Pgamkf1943 36/43 VEL Ler tgr sind ron dnlee eenle l duitde Chcimdad Pr a g IV. Czerninpalais. als dridejorinoeeick giclickd On April 4, the year before, my father MUDR W e n z e l Pr a ž á k was arrested in Prague VII.Veverkastrasse ll.,under suspicion of anti-rich activity as an Artzt, by the secret state police in Prague. My father, who treated an average of loo patients daily, and whose ordination took up to 1 4 hours, has, according to the publication in the papers of 8.d.M., issued in a single case an essential certificate, on the basis of which a patient was wrongly absent from work. My father was missing from this, but only from too great an escape. In no case was he aware of an act hostile to the rich. As a former Oesterreichian officer, who was twice wounded and awarded five times for bravery, he had nothing further to do than deliberately harm the interests of the Reich. On request, his numbering of German patients could bear witness to his positive attitude towards Germanism. I would like to point out in particular that my father worked every hour of his free time on an extensive, specialized medical work in which a new therapy according to Professor Domagk in Elberfeld, with which he was in constant contact, is treated. The work is a first monograph of this kind and is on the l4.IV.d.J. in the publishing house of the association of Czech doctors in Prague under the title "Introduction to modern chemotherapy of bacterial infections ". I ask Your Excellency to take note of my remarks and not to have my father punished as an enemy of the empire - which he has never been. yo Prague on 21 May 1943. X1-224/43
