I was pleased to receive the news from Mr. Fischer, Standarten- führer, that the Minister of State has approved the establishment of a small Czech voluntary formation intended only for use in Czech territory and to be trained in the use of light infantry weapons. However, I would like to draw attention to the following circumstances in order to carry out this beautiful idea : l./ I fear that an overly narrow connection of this research with the Board of Trustees will give rise to the rumor that the Board is a disguised military organization that continuously hands over all young men, such as the HJ, to the military formations. Furthermore, I fear that in such a comradely unit the necessary discipline will not be achieved. The board of trustees is known, as far as military habits are concerned, by its lack of discipline and inaccuracy. I reckon that no one would take this military unit seriously, neither the government force, nor the Wehrmacht, nor Warren-SS. 2./ If a number of Czech intelligent volunteers really were to represent the leader's tribe for a possible higher Czech military formation, 25 officers and approximately loo under-commissioned officers would be necessary for a battalion of 6oo men. On the Cheperka, under the command of a single German orfician, this tribe cannot be formed. If Ukrainians can be members of the Warren SS, then I see no reason why OU should not be the Czechs either. The Italians have taken their orifices to the SS for retraining, the Croats have their young officers trained in German foreign schools. -2- 88000 (Multaepoliih) coentae) $A}$
