M i n i s t e r i m 24 für Wirtschaft und Arbeit. G.Z. A I - 5103. Prag, 30 June 1943. To the gentlemen Head of the employment offices. Subject: Women's employment l943. 1./ The use of women in the war economy is today in the foreground of the labour force management in Böhnen and Moravia, as in the rest of the Reich. Within the last few months, the proportion of women in the total number of employees liable to health insurance in the protectorate has risen to 32.3 percent and has since been given a last month to the economy an additional 45,452 women from the labour input. Compared to the previous year's level, 96,422 women are now employed under the health insurance scheme, i.e. 15.8 % more in employment. The increased use of women is even more evident by a comparison of the proportional share of the total number of allowances. In April of this year, the average number of hours worked per month was 1 7 in the female population. However, the intensity of the use of women in the economy of the Protectorate varies considerably from one district to another and from one occupation to another. The proportion of women employed in the various occupational groups also varies considerably.
