33 - 5 - V. Occupation and defence of the barriers. 1.) A permanent crew to defend the barriers must be present in each case. The strength must be determined. The intended crew must be located in the immediate vicinity of the barrier. Depending on the position, alarm levels for the readiness to defend must be specified. Communication (post office, cyclists) - if necessary also with the participation of the party departments must be ensured to the individual blocking points. 2.) The defence of the barriers must be regulated in all details. This includes reconnaissance and tank service. These are misorganized in such a way that rapid readiness to defend is taken even without a special command of superior bodies. Fake and forelocks are missing even in the worst case to ensure fast closure of the main Syrians. 3.) An education at the barrier in the secession and in the defense is indispensable (indrillen). This includes the tank warning service, the closing of the main and main barrier and the defence with all details itself. For the people's storm, etc., special instructors must be appointed for this purpose. VI. Extension and defence of local bases and bridge heads. 1.) In principle, it should be noted that the defence is adapted to the crew strength. In any case, no defensive ring with a wide circumference may be pulled around villages and bridge heads if this is not strictly ordered by the leadership and a very specific crew strength is ensured. Experience has shown that in almost all cases the outlying areas have provided the only effective means of defence, in all other cases the almost weak crew has been pushed through quickly.
