66 Security Service RF4 Prag-Bubentich, 24.4.1940 GD section Prague Sachlenweg B 4 SA. beLa Reichsprotector in Bohemia and Moravia. Eing.: 25. APR,1940 Tgb. Nr.: 262l To the Secretary of State at the Reichsguardor in Böhmen and Mänren SS group leader K.H. Fr a n k Prag Czernin-Palais Betr.: Ehrensold for Czech soldiers. O C An influence of the department of the Reichsprotektor on the question whether former Austrian soldiers of Czech nationality, who expect the gold or silver medal of bravery in the world war, should be paid out by the Protectorate government, does not seem appropriate. The fact that the honorary soldier cannot be granted from the Great German Reich to the persons in question is beyond question. It may also be left to the question whether it would be in keeping with the nature of the honorary servant if this well-deserved soldier, for example, was granted by the protectorate government. In any case, the situation should not be able to induce the Lord Reichsprotektor to take a measure which once did not concern prestige costs of the empire and, on the other hand, could be regarded as an unjustified intervention in the Czech government. 1.215.40.
