141 Draft letter to Reichsminister Walter F u n k . First of all, I thank you once again for your willingness to comply with my invitation. In particular, I would like to thank you for your commitment to take the floor on the economic policy of the Empire within the framework of the South-Eastern European Society, which has been planned for a long time together with the economic organizations of the Protectorate. The political events of the last few weeks have prompted the hostile foreign country to follow events in the Protectorate with special attention and ugliness. Since there has now been an increasing calming of the internal political conditions and thus a definitive and reliable guarantee for the restless use of the productive power of this space for the war economy of the empire, I have decided to arrange your visit and the associated event for a state political act, whose effect will undoubtedly go far beyond the Grenezen Böhmeng and Moraviang. But the importance of this economic area for the Reich is also worth stressing in terms of the size of the Reich's armaments industry. In addition, the tradition-bound export industry has still retained its importance in the context of the large German foreign economy and is still a very considerable factor today. In particular, the Protectorate is of interest to Germany's relations with the South East not only because of its old and valuable experience in these markets and because of the considerable volume of the reciprocal flow of goods, but also because of valuable participations in the whole of the South-East Romans, which, as a result of the increasing transfer of the large enterprises in the Protectorates into German hands, represent German positions in this Rabme.
