1 - If one is to deny the dwelling, food, cleaning and maintenance of clothing, the journey home - every 4 days or once a month -, the occasional accommodation in the barracks camp with the daily food in the amount of K l5.--, it turns out that one cannot live from it tolerable. It comes to scenes that one can not describe. A case of a girl who complained that she could not get along with her salary and was hungry, was decided by the barracks commander to look for an additional purchase "at the powder tower" X/. It was often appropriate that the workers had organized a money collection among themselves in favour of this-hungry-the girls. In the union headquarters of the workers, negotiations have been held on the sidelines of these conditions and on possible help for these girls for more than a year. We find it understandable that perhaps for political reasons our wages must not exceed those in the rich. It would be possible, however, to make life easier for these girls who depend on themselves by special assistance on housing rent and on the pledge. Even the representative of the liaison office at the union headquarters estimated the wages these girls would need at K 22o.-- weekly. Unfortunately, a settlement of this matter remained unfinished to this day. Not much better are the auxiliary workers who have to feed a multi-member family and receive only an hourly wage from K 4.8o to K 5.4o. In those cases where these workers can work in the chord, they are partially helped; but where this is not the pitch, their situation is extremely desperate. In the course of the decentralisation of the factories, the employed or assigned employees are outside their permanent place of residence throughout the week. They complain that, with regard to the l2-hour daily working hours, the catering provided to them is quite inadequate. Since the working time usually ends between 18 and 19 o'clock, therefore at a time when all shops are closed, the workers can no longer buy anything and have to go to bed without a night meal. Therefore, the desire was expressed that the Patriks canteens in the armaments industry of the workforce give in the evening a warm soup, x/ stroke.
