2100/44ry 23 Dec. 1944. The German Minister of State (p.d.) St.M. 638/44. ) To Mr. 23. XII.194 Gauleiter and Reichsstatthalter Dr. Jury, Vienna IX, Wasagasse 10. Dear party comrade Dr. Juries ! about the ski jumping operation in the Gau Niederdonau has been reported to me that the district question is the most obvious problem. The Czechs are in the most primitive way housed in barns and in haylofts, where despite the cold weather there is no heating possibility. There is no device to dry clothes and footwear. The food is given mttsse on the street. For washing is not an opportunity. In the place Mönchhof, which accommodates five thousand men, there is also no drinking water. All in all, with the lack of body care - the people cannot even undress themselves - in the near future to expect greater filling. As a further complaint is put forward that the people had to wait for hours at the railway yard in order to be transported to their work place. It had happened in some cases that the trains did not leave until about 10 a.m. instead of 6 or 7 a. m. and could have been worked after just one hour. I do not deny that such an operation brings with it great difficulties, but nevertheless believe that the described defects could be put off.
