Source: III A - SA 337/7 of 3.1.1945. Bopc! From circles of the youth curatorium it became known here that on the arrival of the 10,000 Czech young people in their places of operation in Niederdonau the political leaders responsible for the construction of the position were very suspicious. The reason for this was to be found in the fact that the protectorates were supposed to behave in a similar way to the Viennese Czechs. The German population living there was also forbidden - similar to the ban on traffic with the other foreign-völkish workers employed there - to traffic with Czechs. The orderly attitude and also the good working morale of the young Czechs under the man-made leadership of instructors, district and principal commissioners of the Youth Curatorium is to be attributed to the fact that the confidence of the political leaders responsible for building the position could soon be gained. The mood of the young people employed was good, although the accommodation was bad and they did not have a warm room at all. Their zeal for work had been greatly increased by the fact that they were promised to go home earlier than planned if the workload they demanded was reached. The food of the people is good, although most of the used ones were used to a better diet. All kitchens and even a butcher's were taken into self-government.Every day, many packages of meat, bacon and cakes from the home were also used as improvements. At Christmas, the Association for Agriculture and Forestry managed to procure over 200,000 cigarettes and 1500 1 liquor. 1578/48/160
