31 -3 - According to statements by the Chief of Operations, Oberbannführer Dressler, the Czech Landjugend works modelly and shows the best results achieved so far in the field. In order to prevent a different mood change, the young people would not have to remain in use for more than 1 week in accordance with the promises made. However, if the work had not been done by then, it would be good if the Jews were exchanged after this time. Below is a report by a Czech, who accompanied Dr. Theuner on his journey to the field of operation, about his impressions there: Both the visit of the various labour camps are best done by the labour camps in Bruck,Mendorf and Prellenkirchen. Especially in Prellenkirchen the mood of the young people made a very good impression. Also their relationship to the German population of the place seemed to be excellent. A bit of diswill was caused temporarily only by the rejection of the visit by Minister Hruby, which was expressed loud dissatisfaction. Otherwise, as was later confirmed by the young people themselves, the impression was generally that everything had only been improvised at first, causing many shortcomings. For example, in some places the officials of the NSDAP and the OT knew nothing at all about the arrival of the young and showed themselves correspondingly surprised and unprepared. Because of these organisational deficiencies, young people were housed in barns and stables, and they lacked blankets and food, so the young people suffered from the cold at first, as they often had neither blankets nor warm linen. The food did not work in the first time either, the young people received several times in a row as main meal only turnips. In the course of time however, the local population turned on and solved many shortcomings.
