Division I Prague, 28 November 1944. I/2 a - 1832/21/44 nisteram 2 9. NOV. 1944 To the head of the ministerial office Mr. Ministerial Councillor Dr. G i e s . Betr.: Total war operation; here: Sunday service with authorities. Attachment: 1. On 29 September 1944 I have under Z1. I/1 a - 1832/21/44 No I to the Minister of State reported that, if the food office of the city of Brno had been pro- viously open on a Sunday morning, only 3 people had appeared and that a similar provisional Sunday service was introduced in Pilsen. I now have the experience of the Mayor of the City of Pilsen, whom I will give you a copy of. M.E. is perfectly clear that there is no need for the introduction of the Sunday service, especially at the card offices of the municipalities. The Minister of the Interior, therefore, in his decree on the re-regulation of working time in the public service of 6 May 19944 did not introduce the compulsory Sunday service at all card offices of the municipalities and provided for this service only in exceptional cases. For this purpose, however, the introduction of the late service by 8 p.m. on two days of the week was ordered for the card centres, food and business departments and for the police hotlines. By decree of 5 May 1984, the Ministry of the Interior further ordered that, after air raids - especially in the municipalities - a continuous service should be established and maintained for as long as the needs of the population require. I ask the Minister of State to inform this occasionally. Ilah B St.M. A-20206/44
