IV Croation is more than 1 50 million RM, which is 58 % of the recorded industrial ore production value of all Croatia. Especially developed in Agram is the textile, leather, paper and chemical industry. The next most important industrial center is that of Essegg. In Esseg, the food, textile and leather industries are mainly represented. In the third Croatian industrial enterprise, Varasdin, 43 enterprises with 5 000 workers and a production value of around 1 8 million. The circle of Susak comprises 5o industrial plants, which employ only 2050 workers and also have a production value of 8.5 million RM. Characteristic for this area is the large number of small plants of the wood and saw industry. Spalato lies on the Dalmatian coast in the fifth Croatian industrial centre, where there are 4O companies with over 5400 workers and a production value of around 1 2 million. RM The cement industry is particularly well developed in the area of SpalaTO. In the whole of Croatia, 682 industrial workers (with a population of 4.3 million) and a production of a quarter of a billion RM. were recorded by the research institute.
