In the case of an application for a guarantee under Article 4 of the Staff Regulations, the Commission shall, in accordance with the procedure laid down in Article 5 of Regulation (EEC) No 1408/71 of the European Parliament and of the Council, take the necessary measures to ensure that the conditions laid down by this Regulation are met.
